I got bored and had an itch to take some pictures so I thought I’d head to a quarry north of Ottawa and check it out. I shot a few images. Check back through out the week for more from this series.

So it’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything to my blog, mostly because I had what I will refer to as an ordeal with my sites hosting company 1and1.com. I will spare everyone the details, but I suggest using pretty much any other company if you require hosting. However, I am posting now, so I will get back to doing that.
I am currently in the states on a bit of a vacation; driving through the east to South Carolina. I was in Washington D.C yesterday for a bit and snapped a few shots in between visiting the many Smithsonian museums, which have been awesome for the most part. My girlfriend, Shaina, and I decided against a map and walked around the National Mall. We discovered you can only look at the Whitehouse( I mean look, not go into or near) once every two hours or so. During the non-looking times, you must be about a km away. In fact you will have a whistle blown at you if you try and gaze from across the street behind 3 fences, security and several layers of concrete barriers. Needless to say, we gave up on that pretty quickly and continued to the Lincoln Memorial which is beyond the reflecting pool, which sadly was no longer a pool, but a very long, shallow, dirt pit filled with wooden piles and construction equipment. It seems D.C was not in the mood for company. In any event, it was fun to see all the landmarks, the awesome(did I mention free?) Smithsonian Museums, and complain about the construction and over-zealous Whitehouse security.
So here are a few shots from the day. Plenty more to come from Chesapeake and the Carolinas, not to mention the film.
