Last summer I went on a road trip to Charleston. The Angel Oak(a massive gnarled oak tree) is located there. I got a few nice shots with my little Minox GSE.
While in Charleston, Shaina and I stopped in at Folly Beach right before sunset. The water was unbelievably warm, so we stayed for a while and I took a bunch of shots.(Click image for wallpaper version)
So I went to the Angel Oak while I was in Charleston. It’s neat and very large and interesting, but even early in the morning, there are people everywhere. It’s one of those places that’s been photographed, painted, sketched so many times, in a lot of ways it’s a hard place to take any interesting pictures. This shot is sort of a happy accident.

Here are some shots from Charleston, SC before the weekend.
